Last Time Out
Brown (5-4-1, 1-0-1 Ivy) returned to Ivy League play this past weekend and played Princeton to a 1-1 draw at Stevenson Field. Facing a one-goal deficit, rookie Jack Hagstrom notched the equalizer in the 86th minute when he headed in a free kick from Louis Zingas for his fifth goal of the season. Keeper Erik Hanson made six saves and kept the Tigers off the board during a heavy attack early in the second half.
Scouting the Terriers
Boston University enters Tuesday at 8-2-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the Patriot League. BU is unbeaten over its last six games, suffering just two losses to a pair of Brown common opponents in Princeton and Boston College. Brown tied and lost to those two teams, respectively. Anthony Viteri headlines the Terrier offense with six goals and 14 points, while a total of nine different players have found the back of the net. Matt Gilbert has played every minute in goal for a 0.80 GAA and a .862 save percentage.
Last Time Against BU
Brown topped BU, 1-0, in last year's meeting between the two teams in Boston. Tariq Akeel scored the only goal of the game and Jack Gorab had the assist. Brown has played BU in each of the past seven seasons, going 5-0-2 in that span including a current five-game winning streak.
Hagstrom Continues to Shine
Freshman Jack Hagstrom scored the equalizer against Princeton on Saturday for his team-high fifth goal of the season. The defender ranks second in the Ivy League in both goals (5) and points (10). He is a two-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week selection.
Gorab Named Senior CLASS Candidate
Jack Gorab has been named a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award, which is presented each year to the outstanding senior NCAA Division I Student-Athlete of the Year across ten different sports. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.
