Women's Tennis Splits Ivy Kick-Off Weekend

HANOVER, N.H. – The Brown women's tennis team geared up for the 2015 dual match season at the Ivy Kick-Off event hosted by Dartmouth this weekend. On Saturday, the Bears dropped a 5-2 decision to the No. 63 ranked Big Green before rebounding to topple Cornell on Sunday, 4-3.

On Saturday, Hannah Camhi (Woodbury, N.Y.) and Ashley Noyes (Marblehead, Mass.) each posted singles victories, but the host Big Green rallied to down the Bears, 5-2.

Brown found its groove on Sunday, grabbing the doubles point on the strength of victories by Alyza Benotto/Dayna Lord (6-3) and Hannah Camhi/Nikita Uberoi, who grinded out a 7-6 (2) win.

With Cornell rallying to draw the match even at three apiece, Camhi lead the charge for the Bears and claimed the decisive match over Marika Cusick, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, to even Brown's dual match record at 1-1.

The Bears return to action on Friday for a home tilt against UMass-Amherst beginning at 4 p.m.
