
Men's Tennis Cruises Past Boston College, 6-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Justin To scored a big No. 1 singles victory on Tuesday, while the Bears claimed 5-of-6 singles matches overall en route to a 6-1 win over Boston College at the Pizzitola Sports Center. With the win, Brown evens its record at 4-4 while the Eagles drop to 2-5.
In doubles action, the duos of Sam Fife/Brandon Burke and Daniel Hirschberg/Gregory Garcia claimed 8-2 and 8-4 victories, respectively, over their counterparts from Boston College.
To needed three sets to edge Philip Nelson, 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3 before the Bears swept the No. 3-6 singles matches to salt the contest away. Each singles match would only need two sets as William Spector triumphed over Aiden McNulty, 6-4, 6-3 before Sam Fife outlasted Hank Workman, 6-3, 6-2.
Hirschberg sailed past Matt Wagner, 6-1, 6-1 while Lucas Da Silveira concluded the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Kyle Childree.
The Bears will hit the road this weekend with matches against Elon on Friday and Gardner-Webb on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.
