CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Brown men's tennis team split their weekend trip to North Carolina, falling to No. 40 Elon, 4-3, before defeating Gardner-Webb, 6-1, on Saturday.
The Bears' upset bid of the ranked Phoenix fell just short as the lone doubles point proved to be the difference for Elon. Against the Runnin' Bulldogs, the Bears claimed 5-of-6 singles matches en route to a convincing victory over Gardner-Webb.
Brown will return to action on March 7 against Connecticut for the first of four consecutive home matches at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
