PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's swimming and diving team remained in second place after two days of action of the Brown Invitational held at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
Princeton maintained its lead with 727 points, followed by the Bears at 552 points. Columbia (513), Dartmouth (365), and Rider (313) rounded out the rest of the pack.
Another strong team wide performance from the Bears kept them in second place after Saturday's competition. Senior Jeffrey Strausser (Lafayette, Calif.) claimed Brown's top finals finish on the day, placing third in the 100 Fly with a mark of 48.49.
Other notable performances on Saturday included Brian Barr's (Martinsville, N.J.) sixth-place finish in the 200 Free and Connor Lohman's (Prospect, Ky.) seventh-place mark of 57.59 in the 100 Breast.
Freshman Willy Lee (Palo Alto, Calif.) and senior Alex Pascal (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished sixth and seventh respectively in the 100 Back, while Grant Casey (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Lohman boasted top-eight finishes in the 400 IM.
In Saturday's final race, Corey Mayfield's comeback on the final leg of the 800 Freestyle Relay helped the Bears rally past Rider for fifth place in the event.
The Bears will conclude the Brown Invitational tomorrow with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m.
