CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Brown Men's Crew headed to chilly Boston to take on their perennial rivals Harvard, Northeastern and Boston University, among others, in the Foot of the Charles regatta Saturday morning on the Charles River.
The Tail of the Charles Regatta is primarily raced in four-man boats, which is different than the typical eight-man races that are common during the spring racing season. This format lets the crews test their speed in a different vehicle than what they will see in the spring.
Bruno was impressive at the final race of the fall season, as the Bears landed more boats in the top 12 than any other team. Brown's first entry finished in fourth place, behind entries from Northeastern, Harvard and Boston University, an improvement of two places from last year. In addition, Brown boats finished in the fourth, seventh, ninth and 12th positions, showing more depth than any other team. The Brown Freshmen had two boats entered, and both finished second to Harvard entries, as the First Freshmen boat finishing runner-up, and the Second Freshmen finished fourth.
This concludes the Brown Men's Crew's fall season, with the next competition on March 27 against Yale.
