
Men's Soccer Falls at Dartmouth, 3-0, in Season Finale

HANOVER, N.H. – Alex Adelabu notched a pair of goals along with one assist for the Big Green as the Brown men's soccer team fell at Dartmouth, 3-0, the season finale on Saturday at Burnham Field.
Brown wraps up the 2014 campaign at 5-6-6 overall and 2-3-2 in the Ivy League, while the Big Green (11-4-2, 5-1-0) claimed a share of the league title and secured the NCAA automatic bid with the win.
Senior Mitch Kupstas (Suwanee, Ga.) recorded two saves in net for the Bears, while Stefan Cleveland registered seven stops for the Big Green to earn the shutout.
Alex Adelabu opened up the scoring in the 11th minute, when he fielded a pass from Tyler Dowse, turned around toward the net and buried the shot low post for the early lead, 1-0.
Senior Ben Maurey (Downington, Pa.) had the best chance for Brown in the opening half with a shot in the 35th minute, but Cleveland came up with the timely save to preserve the one-goal lead at halftime. Dartmouth held a slim edge in shots, 5-4, during the first half.
Adelabu notched a second goal in the 67th minute, when he connected on a header in front of the net to push the home side in front, 2-0. Dartmouth added a third and final goal in the 80th minute, when Tommy Johnson scored on a pass from Adelabu to secure the victory.
The two teams were even in shots, 9-9, while Dartmouth held the advantage in corner kicks, 3-1. Junior Jack Gorab (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Maurey led the Bears with two shots apiece.
