STORRS, Conn. - The Brown men's soccer team (1-1-0) fell 2-1 to the UConn Huskies (2-3-0) on Thursday night at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.

Brown had a strong start to the game, maintaining possession through the opening 20 minutes.

The Bears opened up the contest scoring in the 16th minute. Carter Smith sent a long pass up the pitch to Sergio Canos Seneci, who passed the ball to Snaith at the top of the box. Off of his right foot, James Snaith sent the ball past UConn's Kyle Durham.

Snaith's goal marks his first in over a year, while Canos Seneci's assist marks his first point as a Bear.

Brown and UConn's shots evened out before the break, closing out the first half with five and six shots respectively. The Bears held the 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

UConn applied pressure coming out of the break, holding onto possession for most of the second half.

The Huskies' Preston Alessio found the equalizer in the 71st minute, tying the score at one.

With five minutes remaining, Canos Seneci and UConn's Evan Pickering were both issued red cards and ejected from the game. The Huskies were awarded a penalty kick, which resulted in their game-winning goal.

UP NEXT
Brown will return to College Hill to host Saint Peter's on Sunday, Sept. 6. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Stevenson-Pincince Field.
