Emily Mosbacher's goal in the 11th minute of play held up as the Harvard Crimson defeated the Brown women's soccer team by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night at Stevenson Field.
THE SERIES HISTORY – CORNELL
The teams will meet on Saturday for the 36th time, with the Bears holding a decisive 23-8-4 edge in the all-time series. Brown is 3-1-1 against Cornell over the previous five matchups.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Elizabeth Crowell and Caroline Growney pace the Cornell attack with 14 and 13 points respectively. Crowell finds herself in a three-way time with Brown's Chloe Cross for second in the league with six goals while Growney holds sole possession of second with five assists. The Big Red snapped a four-game losing skid with a 1-0 victory at NJIT on Sunday thanks to Meera Marhoefer's goal in the 37th minute. Kelsey Tierney has started all but one game in between the pipes, posting a 1.22 goals-against average and .700 save percentage in 13 appearances.
(10/27/13) - Senior Mika Siegelman's goal in the 104th minute propelled the Brown women's soccer team to a thrilling 3-2 double overtime victory over Cornell at Charles F. Berman Field on Sunday.
YANT REGAINS IVY LEAGUE IN SAVES
With nine stops against Harvard last Saturday night, goalkeeper Mallory Yant (Fenton, Mo.) has regained the Ivy League in saves with 49.
Ella Warshauer's strike in the fifth minute on Oct. 8 against Quinnipiac was the sophomore's first career goal.
FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATICS
Cross' goal in the 83rd minute on Oct. 4 was the third time the Bears have scored in the 80th minute or later this season.
KATZ CONTINUES CAREER SEASON
Continuing her productive season, junior midfielder Erin Katz's (Montgomery, Ala.) first half goal against Columbia ranks her second on the team with three strikes in 2014.
CALAS AND REILLY FIND THE BACK OF THE NET
Sydney Calas and Allie Reilly each notched their first goals of the season on Wednesday in Brown's 3-1 win over Bryant. For Reilly, it marked her first strike since Sept. 2, 2011. Calas added her second marker of the season on Tuesday against Quinnipiac.
SHUMWAY COLLECTS FIRST WIN
Freshman goalkeeper Rylee Shumway (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted her first career start on Oct. 1 at Bryant, collecting her first collegiate win after making three saves and surrendering just one goal. She also posted a scoreless second half against Quinnipiac on Tuesday.
Six of the seven Brown freshmen have logged important minutes for the Bears this season, combining for 20 total starts in 14 games.

Brown clashes with Penn on the road next Saturday, Nov. 1, before returning home for the season finale against Yale for Senior Night on Nov. 7.
