Providence, R.I. - Junior All-Ivy kicker Alexander Norocea (Hermosa Beach, CA) was named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in booting two field goals in Brown's 20-0 Ivy victory over Yale on Saturday.
Norocea connected on field goals of 37 and 46 yards without missing, while converting both extra point attempts. His 46-yard field goal, his second of that distance this season, is the 12th longest in Brown football history and the longest in the Ivy League this season.
Norocea has kicked 9-of-11 field goals in 2012, and all 20 of his extra point attempts. He has been an effective kicker throughout his three-year career, connecting on 31-of-45 career field goals. His 168 career points rank ninth in the Brown record book.
The Bears (5-3 overall, 2-3 Ivy) return to action on Saturday, November 10, traveling to Hanover, New Hampshire, for their final road game of the season against Dartmouth. Game time is 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.
