
Matt Mullery Named CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior center Matt Mullery (Millstone, New Jersey) has been named to the 2009-10 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Men's Basketball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, earning Third Team honors.
Mullery is Brown's 19th all-time leading scorer with 1,076
career points, and has posted a 3.31 GPA as a Modern American
History concentrator at Brown. A Lowe's Senior CLASS
candidate, he also tutors other Brown students in math and
calculus. He also helped organize a basketball clinic for Rhode
Island Special Olympics.
Mullery is among the Ivy League leaders in several categories. His
15.3 points per game are sixth in the Ivy League, while his 6.4
rebounds per game rank third in the league. He has 41 blocked
shots, third best in the Ivy League and third in the Brown record
book for a single season. Mullery is also among the nation's
leaders in field goal percentage, shooting 56-percent from the
field, 20th best in the nation.
A prodigious shot blocker, Mullery's 153 career blocked shots
are a Brown record and rank ninth best in Ivy League basketball
history.
