
Gordon Hood & James McNamara Earn CWPA Northern Division Honors

Providence, RI- After a solid 3-0 weekend for the Brown University men's water polo team, freshman James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) was named the CWPA Northern Division Rookie of the Week and senior Gordon Hood (Carlsbad, CA) earned Player of the Week honors.
McNamara combined for seven goals, handed out four assists, picked up nine steals and tallied eight ejections drawn en route to Bruno's undefeated weekend to improve the team's overall record to 12-4 and 5-1 in the league
He tallied an assist, five steals and three ejections drawn during Brown's 5-4 victory against MIT on Oct. 1st , and then posted two goals, two assists and two steals in an 11-6 win over Iona on Oct. 2nd. McNamara then followed up his performances with five goals against Fordham and also handed out an assist, picked up a steal and two ejections drawn in the team's 16-8 victory on Oct. 3rd.
Hood contributed to the Bears' three wins this past weekend with seven goals, four assists and five steals. Against the Engineers, Hood scored two of the team's five goals during the 5-4 win, and then earned four goals in Brown's 11-6 win against Iona. Against Fordham, Hood knocked in one goal, handed out four assists and had both a steal and an ejection drawn in a 16-8 win over the Rams.
The Bears will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 14 when it takes on Harvard at 8:00 p.m.
