Former Bear van Knotsenburg Takes Silver at World Championships

Former Brown rower Steve van Knotsenburg and the Canadian
National Team 8+ placed second at the 2009 World Championships on
Sunday, rowing 5:27.15 to take the silver. With van
Knotsenburg sitting bow, the Canadians jumped out to a fast start,
and held second place throughout the race, holding off late charges
from Poland and the Netherlands.
Germany won the event with a time of 5:24.13, followed by Canada,
the Netherlands, Poland, Great Britain, and Italy.
