Bears Complete First Two Rounds of UConn Invitational

Ellington, Connecticut – The Brown men's golf team
shot a two-round 624 on scores of 318, 306, on the first day of
play at the 54-hole UConn Invitational, played at the par-72
Ellington Ridge CC.
The University of Arkansas-Little Rock has a big lead in the
tournament with scores of 287-288—575, 19-shots ahead of
second place UConn (594), and followed by Bryant (597), Hartford
(600), Sacred Heart (601), American International (602), UConn Blue
(603), Rutgers (606), Central Connecticut (615), Fairfield (618),
Iona (619), Brown (624) and LIU (629).
Bears' junior Michael Amato is 23rd individually after
shooting 76-76—152 on day one. Senior captain John Giannuzzi
is close behind after shooting 79-75—154, 37th
individually.
Freshmen J.D. Ardell and Jack Mylott each came in at 160, with
Ardell shooting 80-80, and Mylott carding 83-77. Freshman Chris
Williams also scored, coming in with 83-78—161.
An 8:30 a.m. shotgun start is scheduled for Tuesday morning to
complete play.
