Brown Finishes 12th At The Connecticut Cup

Ellington, Connecticut – Brown men's golf team came
in with a three-round 940 on scores of 318, 306, 316, to place 12th
at the 54-hole Connecticut Cup, hosted by UConn, and played at the
par-72 Ellington Ridge CC.
Arkansas-Little Rock ran away with the team title with a
three-round 868, beating Bryant (890) by 22 shots. Hartford
finished third (901), followed by Sacred Heart (906), UConn (906),
American International (906), Rutgers (909), UConn Blue (913),
Central Connecticut (919), Fairfield (931), Iona (931), Brown
(940), and LIU (949).
Junior Michael Amato was Brown's top finisher, placing 23rd
overall, with solid scores of 76-76-76—228. Senior captain
John Giannuzzi came in 45th, shooting 79-75-81—235.
Freshman J.D. Ardell shot the same score in all three rounds,
carding 80-80-80—240, while freshman Chris Williams also came
in at 240, shooting 83-78-79. Freshman Jack Mylott was close behind
at 242 with scores of 83-77-82.
The Ivy league Match Play Championship is next up for the Bears,
October 17-18, at the Bay Club in Mattapoisett, Mass.
