Brown Indoor Golf Facility

Brown University recently completed a state-of-the-art indoor golf facility located in the Olney Margolies Athletic Center that is utilized by both the men's and women's golf teams and available for the Brown student body and faculty and staff.
ÂHighlighting the facility are five areas for hitting, along with a putting and chipping area. With netting of the walls behind the entire space, the teams can use Flight Scope, a technology to track the dispersion rate of the golf ball flight within 50 feet.

"The newly built indoor golf facility means a great deal to the future of both golf programs at Brown," said Brown women's golf coach Danielle Griffiths. "We are truly grateful for the opportunity to practice indoors during the winter months in New England. The facility itself provides a convenience to practice and will be a recruiting asset to the programs. With a state-of-the-art putting green, hitting stations and the addition of a FlightScope launch monitor, the new indoor golf facility allows for both programs to strive for excellence."
Â"The new facility is amazing," said Brown men's golf coach Mike Hughes. "It now allows us to compete on a more level playing field with our Ivy counterparts. We look forward to spending the cool winter months practicing in this spacious, technologically advanced learning center getting ready for the spring season."
ÂA contoured, peanut shaped green, 50-feet long by 18-feet wide, has three different slopes and three different types of turf for chipping, to make it an amazing putting green that rolls smooth and fast. Â
ÂThe 7,000 square foot facility was designed by Keepers Turf, who also designed similar facilities at Ohio State and Notre Dame.
