As a junior, Cerretani won singles and doubles titles at the ITA Northeast Regional, while qualifying for the NCAA Tournament in doubles.
His career closed as strongly as it opened, as Cerretani set the program record for doubles wins in a season with 36 in 2004. Cerretani made a second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Tournament as a senior, reaching the tournament in doubles and singles.
Over his time at College Hill, Cerretani was a six-time All-Ivy selection, which included two First Team honors in singles (2003 and 2004) and doubles (2001 and 2003). Cerretani earned Second Team honors in singles in 2002 and doubles in 2004.
Cerretani holds numerous all-time program records at Brown. For his career, Cerretani ranks first in doubles wins with 120 and second in combined wins (93 singles-120 doubles-213). He finished his singles career ranked fifth with his 93 wins.
In a single season, Cerretani and his 2003 doubles partner, Chris Drake, rank first all-time in team doubles wins with 31. Cerretani is tied for third (Nick Malone - 2001) and sixth (Adil Shamasdin - 2004) in team doubles. Cerretani’s 27 singles wins in 2003 rank ninth all-time. In addition to holding the program’s top spot in doubles wins in a season (36 in 2004), he also ranks second all-time in the category with 34 wins, setting the mark in the 2003 season.
Professionally, Cerretani has played in all four Grand Slam tournaments and advanced to the second round at the US Open and the French Open. He also has advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles at Wimbledon in 2011 and 2012, and has an 8-5 career doubles record at Wimbledon. Cerretani won three ATP tour titles and has earned a ranking as high as No. 45 in the world in doubles.
