Jovani Valentin joined Brown Athletics in 2023 as a Financial Coordinator in the Business Office. He brings nearly a decade of experience in financial operations, budgeting, and process improvement across higher education, private wealth management, and business services.
At Brown, Jovani supports the department’s financial infrastructure, managing budgets, streamlining purchasing and expense processes, and working closely with coaches, staff, and leadership to ensure sound financial planning. He has helped implement cost-saving strategies and systems that improve reporting, transparency, and day-to-day efficiency.
Prior to joining Brown, Jovani held roles in investment operations and business management, where he developed skills in financial analysis, reconciliation, vendor coordination, and systems implementation. He is especially experienced with tools like Workday, Oracle, and Excel-based modeling.
A Rhode Island native, Jovani earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Johnson & Wales University. He brings a practical, detail-oriented, and mission-driven approach to his work at Brown, combining technical skills with a collaborative mindset to support the department's goals.
