2023: Finished the season with 14 goals, 18 assists, and 20 steals ... Added three field blocks ... Had two goals with two assists and a block against Bucknell (Sept. 3) ... Had two assists and two steals against Mercyhurst (Sept. 23) ... Picked up a goal and two assists in back-to-back games against MIT (Sept. 23) and Long Island (Sept. 30) ... Scored three goals and grabbed five steals against Long Island (Oct. 29) ... Posted three assists with two steals and a goal against Long Island in the first round of the NWPC Tournament (Nov. 17).

Before Brown: Helped lead team to 26-3 record in 2019 … Tallied 40 goals, 30 assists, and 33 steals as a senior … Captained team as a senior … Won school’s Sportsmanship Award … Played for coaches Jimmy Ramaley, Chris Vidale, and Ulmis Iordache … Competed on the club level for Greenwich Aquatics; gained Team MVP honors in 2017 … Also competed in swimming for head coach Terry Lowe … Earned USA Water Polo Academic All-America honors … National Honor Society and AP Scholar with Distinction student.

Personal: Thomas is the son of Hilary and Perry Hoffmeister; both Brown Class of 1988; Perry played men’s rugby at Brown … Has three siblings, Victoria ’17, Andrew, and Katherine; Andrew competed for Brown men’s crew in 2015-16 … Teaches swimming to children with special needs … Entered Brown undecided on a concentration.

Why Brown? “Brown immediately felt like home to me with its welcoming community and beautiful campus. I chose it for both the great water polo program and the open curriculum, which will allow me the opportunity to dig more deeply into my interests as well as discover new passions.”
