Jackie Beck, the current head men’s and women’s golf coach at American International College and former head women’s golf coach at Central Connecticut State University, has been named head women's golf coach at Brown in an announcement made by Brown Director of Athletics Jack Hayes.
“Jackie has found success in every aspect of her career,” said Hayes. “She’s an accomplished collegiate player, an LPGA professional, a proven teacher and a successful collegiate coach. Her passion for the game of golf and her commitment to our academic mission makes her a wonderful fit for Brown.”
Beck brings a wealth of golf coaching experience to College Hill. She led the Central Connecticut State University women's team from 2015-2018. At CCSU, Beck coached the NEC Rookie of the Year, two NEC First Team All-Conference selections and one NEC Second Team All-Conference honoree by reinforcing solid work ethic within the team.
“I am thankful for the incredible opportunity to join Brown University,” said Beck. “I want to thank Jack Hayes and Associate Athletic Director, Jeanne Carhart, for entrusting me as the next leader of the Brown Women’s Golf Team. I am looking forward to meeting the talented young women and the start of the fall season.”
Prior to CCSU, she was the head coach for both the men's and women's programs at Albertus Magnus College. She has also been a coach for the First Tee of Connecticut program for six years.
A 1985 graduate of Illinois State, Beck earned four varsity letters and led her team to the Gateway Conference championship in both 1983 and 1985. She was a two-time All-Gateway Conference selection and won the conference title in 1985 before being named to the Gateway Conference All-Decade Golf Team in 1992. In 2007, Beck was inducted into the school's Sports Hall of Fame.
Following her graduation from Illinois State, Beck spent four years as the assistant golf professional at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, FL. An LPGA teaching professional, she has most recently worked at Tunxis Country Club and the Country Club of New Canaan.
Beck spent 12 years at Spalding Sports Worldwide as the Golf Promotions Manager and the Marketing Communications Director. Since 2002, she has successfully run her own business, Beck Communications, an event management and public relations practice specializing in the golf industry.
Beck and her husband, Ron, have three daughters, Taylor, Molly and Mandy.
