Brian Biekert enters his second year as an Assistant Coach with the Brown, where he works primarily with the middle-distance and long-distance student-athletes.
Biekert was a varsity cross country and track & field student-athlete for 4 years at Central Connecticut State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. After graduation, Biekert completed his last year of eligibility at Iowa State University under the direction of five-time National Champion Coach, Martin Smith, while studying for a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
During his career he ran 3:44.35 in the 1500m, 4:02.39 in the mile, and 8:50.84 in the 3000m Steeplechase. He also anchoring Iowa State’s national qualifying Distance Medley Relay which ended up finishing 3rd at the NCAA Championship.
Biekert is a Groton, CT native.
