Sophie Albano-Alisberg, a former support staff member with USA Basketball and High Point University women’s basketball, enters her first season as the operations coordinator for the Brown University women’s basketball program in 2017-18.
Albano-Alisberg spent time with USA Basketball in the summers of both 2016 and 2017 while also serving as the head women’s basketball manager at High Point from 2013-17. During her time at High Point, she also worked as a facilities and operations assistant for HPU athletics from 2015-17.
While working for USA Basketball, Albano-Alisberg served on the support staff for the U16 and U19 National Team Trials from May to June of 2017 after acting as a member of the support staff for the U17 and U18 National Team Trials in May of 2016.
At High Point, Albano-Alisberg worked as a team manager for the women’s program during all four of her years as an undergraduate. She held responsibilities surrounding practice and game-day operations, equipment, and visiting team needs. She also served as a facilities and operations assistant for the Panthers’ athletic department as a junior and senior, aiding in the coverage of a variety of sports, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse.
A native of West Hartford, Conn., Albano-Alisberg earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Relations with a minor in Sports Management from High Point University in 2017.
