Samantha Brenner enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Brown University women’s basketball program in 2022-23, joining the team in July 2021.
The associate head coach at UT Permian Basin from 2018-21, Brenner held duties around recruiting, scouting, post development, academics, and community service. In 2020-21, she helped the team tally its most Lone Star Conference wins in program history, and in 2019-20 she helped the team rank seventh in Division II in total steals. During her time at UTPB, she coached both All-Conference and All-Freshman Team selections.
Prior to UTPB, Brenner served as an assistant coach at Franklin Pierce University from 2016-18 with duties including recruiting, scouting, post development, academics, community service and marketing. She began her collegiate coaching career as a student assistant coach at Adelphi University in 2015-16.
As a student-athlete, Brenner competed at Adelphi from 2014-16 after playing at the University of Vermont from 2012-14. At Adelphi, she helped the team post a 46-16 record over her two seasons, which included a Northeast 10 title and an NCAA tournament appearance.
Brenner earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Adelphi in 2016 and an MBA from Franklin Pierce in 2018.
