Andy Falcone, one of the area’s top amateur golfers, has been named the assistant men’s golf coach at Brown University in an announcement made by Bears’ head coach Mike Hughes.
"We're delighted to bring Andy in as an assistant,” said Hughes. “He brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and his years of competing in national amateur events will no doubt help our student athletes perform at a high level."
Falcone brings extensive playing experience to his role at Brown. As a student-athlete, he was a four-year letter winner and captain of the Providence College golf team under Hall of Fame coach Joe Prisco. He was named an NCAA Division I Honorable Mention All-American in 1985 after winning the Big East Conference individual title.
He continues to play competitively at the amateur level, having qualified for two USGA Mid-Amateur Championships and numerous MGA Amateur and Mid-Amateur Championships.
A 1986 graduate of Providence College, Falcone earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in business administration from Boston University in 1993. He has spent 20+ years working in the corporate and investment banking business, most recently with KeyBank, NA.
Falcone is a native of Hampton, NH and currently resides in Duxbury, MA with his wife and three children.
