While at Brown, Geer was one of seven nominees nationwide for the 2022 College Gym News Sports Information Director of the Year Award. Over three years at Lehigh, Geer was the primary contact for women’s basketball, track and field, and swimming and diving, while providing extensive support for football, softball, and men’s basketball among other programs. He was the primary contact for Lehigh Softball at the 2017 NCAA Los Angeles Regional at UCLA and oversaw all communications efforts for the annual Paul Short Run, one of the largest intercollegiate cross country meets in the nation. He wrote numerous student-athlete feature stories for LehighSports.com, in addition to covering four swimmers that qualified for Olympic Trials, and three track and field athletes that earned All-America honors. As the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Sacred Heart, Geer served as the primary contact for 14 sports, including the 2018 Northeast Conference co-champion football team.
In 2018, he returned to his alma mater, New Haven, where he served as the primary contact for 12 sports, assisted with graphic design, live streaming of all home athletic contests and was critical in developing and expanding historical archives for several of the department’s athletic programs.
A native of Derby, Conn., Geer graduated from New Haven in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management and earned his MBA from the University in 2014. A five-year member of the Chargers’ baseball team, he was a member of squads that captured the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference title, and twice qualified for the NCAA Division II Tournament.
