Giana Cappelli joined the Brown University Athletic Communications team as an intern in August 2023 before transitioning into the role of Athletic Communications Officer in July 2024.

As an intern, she served as the primary contact for Brown's sailing and tennis programs, while also supporting football as a secondary contact. In addition, she assisted in the coverage of both men's and women's ice hockey teams.

Before joining Brown, Cappelli spent a year with Girls Club, where she began as a media coordinator, helping manage the organization's social media presence and create digital content. She later served as the Media Director of LinkedIn, overseeing and collaborating with a team of interns to create content for the brand.

Cappelli is a Rhode Island native that graduated from La Salle Academy in 2020. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rhode Island in 2024, earning her Bachelor of Arts in sports media and communication with a minor in Journalism. Cappelli continued her education at URI, earning a Graduate Certificate in Social Media in 2026.
