
Volleyball Travels to California This Weekend for Two Matches

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown volleyball team will travel to the West Coast this weekend to play back-to-back days in California. Play begins on Friday, Sept. 11, when the Bears take on Long Beach State beginning at 10 p.m. ET., streaming on ESPN+.
Brown will then play Loyola Marymount on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. ET to close out their West Coast weekend. Saturday's match will not be streamed.

THE FIRST SERVE
Brown is coming off a 1-2 opening weekend, after participating in the Ocean State Cup with an exciting five-set win against URI.
Sophia Wolfson had a strong weekend to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Wolfson led Brown in kills on the weekend (44), hitting .407 across three matches.
SCOUTING LONG BEACH STATE
The team is riding a three-game winning streak after beating Wyoming, Utah, and Eastern Illinois.
Long Beach started off their season 0-2, including opening play against UCLA.
As a team, they are hitting .203 on the season so far, with sophomore Sidney Hamaker logging 75 kills through five matches.
SCOUTING LMU
The team is 5-1 on the season, with their only loss in a five-set match against Hawaii.
Coming off a 2-1 weekend in Honolulu, the team is hitting .246 overall, with sophomore Nicole Shuetz hitting .279 alone and 105 kills on the season so far.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Brown has played Long Beach State once in 1996 in Rhode Island. The game resulted in a 3-0 loss.
This will be Brown's first meeting against LMU.
