Men’s Basketball Falls 81-73 in Back-and-Forth Contest at Penn

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Brown men's basketball team (6-9, 0-2) fell 81-73 in a back-and-forth Ivy League contest at Penn (8-7, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon inside The Palestra.
The first half featured three lead changes and five occasions where the game was tied, Brown held the largest lead of the half with an eight-point advantage with 13:52 remaining.
The Bears led for 13:32 of the first half behind 17-34 shooting from the floor and 4-10 from beyond the arc. Adrian Uchidiuno scored a team-high 10 first half points behind 4-8 shooting from the floor, N'famara Dabo added eight points on 3-3 shooting from the floor to go along with four rebounds.
Brown scored 26 of its 42 first half points inside the paint and outscored Penn 11-0 on second change points. The game entered the second half knotted at 42.
With the game tied, Penn outscored Brown 13-8 through the first 4:34 of the second half to take a 55-50 advantage into the under 16 media timeout. Penn held a seven point lead on three separate occasions in the second half.
With 11:57 remaining, David Rochester cut the Quakers' advantage to 61-60, Penn then pushed its advantage back up to five. Brown would cut Penn's lead to two on three more occasions, including with 2:54 remaining. But the Bears would be unable to regain the lead as the Quakers held on for the win.
Jeremiah Jenkins scored a team-high 10 points in the second half, Dabo added nine in the half.
Dabo's 17 points were a career-high, Jenkins added 15 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Uchidiuno scored 15 points on 3-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
Brown will return home to welcome Columbia on Saturday, Jan. 17 and Cornell on Monday, Jan. 19. Both games are scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. inside the Pizzitola Sports Center. Fans can purchase tickets to both games here.
