Field Hockey Hosts No. 18 Yale for Ivy League Opener on Saturday, Stonehill on Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown Field Hockey team (1-2) will host No. 18 Yale (4-0) for its Ivy League opener on Saturday, before hosting Stonehill (0-5) on Sunday.
Last Time Out
Brown earned its first win of the 2025 season with a 1-0 win over Fairfield in its home opener (Sept. 14). Lexi Pellegrino netted the lone goal of the game as Ellie Parker earned her first career shutout in her first career win.
Pellegrino's 26th career goal gave her 57 career points, moving her up to 10th in program history. Pellegrino's 26 career goals ranks sixth in program history.
Scouting Brown (1-2)
Brown has had five different goal scorers this season, Pellegrino leads the Bears with three points. Parker has made 15 saves in three games, the freshman is sporting a .750 save percentage and a 1.52 goals against average.
As a team, Brown ranks 10th in the nation in attack penalty corner conversion percentage at 23.5 percent. The Bears have scored four goals on 17 penalty corner attempts.
Brown's Ivy League opener against Yale will be its third match up against a ranked team this season. The Bears are 0-2 against ranked opponents this season and are seeking its first win over a ranked opponent since Sept. 4, 2022 when they earned a 3-2 overtime victory over No. 24 Miami (OH).
Scouting Yale (4-0)
The Bulldogs' 4-0 start to the season is the best start since 1995. Yale out-shot their four opponents this season by a combined total of 119-34, finishing each game with at least 13 more shots than the opposition.Â
Yale's 4.0 goals per game ranks seventh nationally and its 10.75 points per game ranks 10th nationally.
Scouting Stonehill (0-5)
The Skyhawks will take on Rider in its NEC opener on Friday, Sept. 19 before heading to College Hill. Stonehill will be seeking its first win of the season this weekend, opponents have out-scored Stonehill 19-3 through the first five games of the season.

Brown is 19-27-4 all-time against Yale, last season the Bears earned a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs in their Ivy League opener. Sunday will be the first-ever match up between Brown and Stonehill.

Next weekend, Brown will continue Ivy League play at Columbia on Friday, Sept. 26, before hosting UMass Lowell on Sunday, Sept. 28.
