PRINCETON, N.J. - The Brown field hockey team has been picked third in the Ivy League Field Hockey Preseason poll, the league announced on Tuesday.
Princeton and Harvard both received eight first place votes, but Princeton's 120 points edged Harvard's 118 as the Tigers took the top spot. The Bears checked in third with 85 points, behind Brown is Yale who accumulated 78 points.
Cornell (61 points), Penn (47), Columbia (45) and Dartmouth (22) rounded out the final four spots.
Last season, Brown was selected seventh in the preseason poll and appeared in its first-ever Ivy League Tournament after finishing fourth. Brown's four wins in Ivy League play in 2024 was the most since 2015 when the Bears earned three league wins.
Brown will open its 2025 season on the road at UMass on Friday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
