JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Brown women's soccer alumna Kayla Duran '22 has signed a contract extension with Gotham FC, the team announced. Duran initially signed as a National Team Replacement Player in July, but now solidifies her role with the club going forward.
Duran was an impact player for the Bears, earning Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year in 2021. In her final two collegiate seasons, she received All-Ivy First Team honors twice and Third Team All-America as a senior.
Duran scored two goals and tallied seven assists during her tenure with Brown. She has excelled at every level, winning the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year in high school before her college success.
Gotham FC is currently in eighth place in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) at 5-5-5. They sit in the final playoff spot with 11 matches remaining in the season.
