
Women's Tennis Welcomes Three to the Incoming Class of 2029

Broadbent Family Women's Tennis Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser has announced the addition of three student-athletes to the team that will join the program in the fall.
The class includes newcomers Abigail Lee, Chloe Qin, and Francesca Saroli.
“I am excited to welcome a great group of incoming freshmen to our team,” Schmidhauser said. “Chloe, Abigail, and Francesca not only bring a high level of tennis accomplishments, but also passion for the game, love of competition and boundless enthusiasm for Brown University and our program. I believe this class will make an immediate impact on our team in practice and competition.”

Abigail Lee
Deerfield, Ill. | Deerfield High School
- Named IHSA All-State in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
- Named Girls' Varsity Tennis MVP in 2022 and 2023
- Served as team captain in 2024.
- Five-star recruit.
- Member of the National Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society.
- Earned a Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish.
Planned concentration: Economics
Why Brown?: "I chose Brown because I wanted to pursue both the highest level of athletics and academics. When I visited, what surprised me most was how genuinely happy everyone seemed. The community felt warm and supportive, creating a collaborative environment that I wanted to be a part of."
Chloe Qin
Bloomfield Hills, Mich. | Cranbrook Kingswood
- Two-time MVP
- State finalist as a freshman.
- State Champion as a senior.
- Ranked seventh nationally by the USTA.
- Five-star recruit.
- Two-time National Guild of Music Champion.
- Associate Concertmaster at the Michigan All State Orchestra.
- Served as class president for three years.
Planned concentration: Cognitive neuroscience

Francesca Saroli
Key Biscayne, Fla. | Laurel Springs School

- Awarded Athlete of the Year at Mouratoglou Tennis Academy as a sophomore and junior.
- Named Swiss Olympic National Talent as a junior.
Planned concentration: Economics and psychology
