No. 8 Women's Crew Prepares for Grand Finals After Day 1 of Ivy Championship

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The Brown women's crew program competed in the heat races for the 2025 Ivy Championship on Saturday afternoon, setting up an exciting day of racing for tomorrow morning. The Bears sent five boats to Cherry Hill, with all five qualifying for the Grand Finals.Â
The V8, stroked by Jessica McGrady and coxed by Summer Balla-Kellett, crossed the finish line in 06:17.254 and placed third in their heat. Brown's top boat, which hasn't finished outside the top three in any race this spring, continues to put forth strong performances against some of the top competition in the country.Â
The 2V8, stroked by Isla Wilding and coxed by Caitlyn Roddy, posted a final time of 06:23.012 and finished in second place. The 3V8, stroked by Sophie Perkel and coxed by Fiona Daly, finished in third place after posting a final time of 06:42.895.
The A4, stroked by Calissa Snyder Cox and coxed by Brooke Halvorsen, finished in second place after posting a final time of 07:09.126. The B4, stroked by Nicole Urquiaga and coxed by Katherine Mitchell, crossed the finish line in 07:14.295 and picked up the victory for the Bears by a little less than three seconds.Â
