5/18/2025 11:31:00 AM | Women's Crew
CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The Bears hit the water on Sunday morning and put together another strong performance at the Ivy Championship, earning 72 team points and finishing in third place. Only Yale (89) and Princeton (84) earned more points than Brown. In totality, five of Brown's six boats earned podium finishes on the morning.
"The team raced hard today and stepped up after the heats," said Loyalty Chair for Women's Crew Head Coach Tessa Gobbo-Zimmerman '13. "The Ivy League is very competitive rowing so it's always exciting to go side by side against our competitors. All Brown boats raced gutsy and didn't flinch."
The V8, stroked by Jessica McGrady and coxed by Summer Balla-Kellett, crossed the finish line in 06:07.861 and earned the bronze medal in the process. Up to this point in the season, Brown's top boat has yet to place outside the top three in any race during the spring campaign.
The 2V8, stroked by Isla Wilding and coxed by Caitlyn Roddy, posted a final time of 06:12.850 and also finished in third place. The 3V8, stroked by Sophie Perkel and coxed by Fiona Daly, finished with a time of 06:28.031 and earned second place. By finishing less than four seconds away from first place, the 3V8 became the Bruno boat closest on the day to winning a gold medal.
The A4, stroked by Calissa Snyder Cox and coxed by Brooke Halvorsen, posted a final time of 06:57.904 and earned a second place finish behind the Yale Bulldogs. The B4, stroked by Nicole Urquiaga and coxed by Katherine Mitchell, finished in third place with a time of 07:05.268. The C4, stroked by Charlotte Moody and coxed by Amelia Mawn, crossed the finish line in 07:29.437 and earned a fourth place finish.
