Reznicek, Podurgiel, Chmielewski and Klinginsmith Named CSC Academic All-Region

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Four members of the Brown women's swimming and diving team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday (April 1). Seniors Jenna Reznicek and Anna Podurgiel were joined by juniors Sumner Chmielewski and Lily Klinginsmith.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have competed in five competitions OR finish top-eight at a conference meet, have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Reznicek earned Second Team All-Ivy with a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke at the Ivy League Championships. She set the program record in both the 100 and 200 backstroke as well as the 400 medley relay and finished 14th in the 200 back and 19th in the 50 free at the Ivy League Championships. Reznicek will graduate this spring with a degree in Psychology and Modern Culture & Media.
Podurgiel broke the school record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.42 at the Ivies, finishing 14th. She was a member of the second-place 800 free relay team at the Ivies and finished 10th in the 200 free and 13th in the 100 free at the Ivies. Podurgiel will graduate with a degree in Business Economics
Chmielewski set the school record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.97, finishing third at the Ivy Championships. She also finished 11th in the 200 fly at the Ivies. Chmielewski is dual concentrating in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Klinginsmith Was a member of the both the 400 free relay and 400 medley relay teams that set program records at the Ivy Championships and part of the second-place 400 free relay team. Individually Klinginsmith finished fourth in the 100 fly, ninth in the 100 free and 10th in the 50 free at the Ivies. Klinginsmith is currently concentrating in Biology.
