Women’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 21 in IWLCA Division I Poll, No. 21 by IL Women

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's lacrosse team cracked the top 25 in two Division I polls as they chekced in at No. 24 in the week seven IWLCA Division I Poll and No. 21 in the IL Women poll.
Brown earned a 14-11 win over then No. 7 Yale on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Brown's win over Yale marks the team's second win over a top 10 opponent in program history, and its first win over Yale since 2019. The loss for Yale snapped a 10-game winning streak against Ivy League opponents.
Against Yale, Annie Burton and Avery Doran led the Bears with three goals and four assists each. After entering the game after the first quarter, Claire Mahoney stopped 10 shots on 18 shots faced. The Bears outscored the Bulldogs 10-5 after Mahoney entered the game.
The Bears' win over the Bulldogs on Saturday was the second victory over a top 25 opponent under second-year head coach Katrina Dowd. Brown took down No. 22 UMass in Dowd's first game at the helm on February 17, 2024. Following Brown's win over UMass last season, Brown was ranked No. 23 in the IWLCA poll.
The Bears are in the "Also Considered" category in the USA Lacrosse top 20 poll.
Brown will continue Ivy League play when they host No. 23 Harvard at Stevenson-Pincince Field on Saturday, Mar. 29 at 1 p.m.
