Oduro Wins Triple Jump Title as Brown Competes at Heps

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Brown track and field programs wrapped up Ivy League Indoor Heps on Sunday with several Bears earning podium finishes. Joseph Oduro captured his first career Heps title with a victory in the men's triple jump. On the women's side, Elle Riley set the school record in the 60 meter hurdles.
MEN

Saturday
Junior Frank Monahan-Morang finished second in the men's long jump earning him second-team All-Ivy honors. It's the first All-Ivy selection of his career, with his mark of 7.38 meters being a personal best. That mark is tied for the sixth best in school history.
Keith Daigneau finished top five in the men's weight throw with a mark of 19.97 meters. It was a personal record and fourth best in school history.
Sunday
Joseph Oduro stole the show winning the triple jump with a mark of 15.58 meters. That mark was the third best in program history and came on his sixth and final jump.
Elias Archie finished fifth in the 60 meter finals, with a time of 6.82. He was one hundredth of a second off his PR but still earned his team 2 points in the attempt.
In the distance medley relay, the team featured John Ryan, Jason Estrada, Aaron Caveney and Sebastian Margetts. They finished fourth with a time of 9:51.29 which earned them four team points. It was the eighth fastest time in program history.
Gabriel Thai gave a valiant effort in the men's heptathlon, finishing fifth with a score of 4722. It was a personal record, as he broke his previous best marks in the 60 meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meter race. The result earned his team two points.

Saturday
Chidinma Agbasi finished third in the women's weight throw with a mark of 19.77 meters. She extended her previous school record by .05 meters. The podium finished earned her team six points.
Michelyn Appiah was fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 18.81 meters, while earning four points for the team. She set a new PR and now holds the second mark in school history.
Jada Joseph finished sixth in the women's long jump with a mark of 6.09 meters and earning one point for her team.
Delaney Seligmann was third in the pentathlon scoring with a total of 3850 points. She earned six points for the team and was 16 scoring points off her career best.
Sunday
Elle Riley set a new school record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.48 seconds. The fifth place finish earned 2 team points.
In the distance medley relay, the team consisted of Julia Schriefer, Anna Pollak, Emily Mrakovcic and Nimrit Ahuja. It was the fifth best mark in school history, as the team finished fourth with a time of 11:33.02.

The 4x400 relay team consisted of Kate Scanlan, Alyssa Jackson, Elle Riley and Maddelynn Brooks. They earned one point, finishing sixth with a time of 3:48.40.
Brooks also competed in the 400 meter final where she finished sixth with a time of 56.13. Katrina Sortland finished sixth in the 500 meter final with a time of 1:16.45.
UP NEXT
The men's team will compete at the ECAC Championships and the women's team will compete at the IC4A Championships on Sunday, March 9.
