Women's Rugby Earns Four All-NIRA Selections

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears women's rugby team earned four All-NIRA selections for the 2024 season. Seniors Akilah Cathey and Nikki Lynch earned first-team honors. Aziza Alford was selected to the second team and Kate Muldoon was an honorable mention.
Cathey picks up her second first-team selection and fourth selection overall. She received honorable mention awards for the 2021 and 2023 seasons.
Lynch picks up her second award after receiving second-team honors in 2023. Cathey led the team with 12 tries and 60 total points. Lynch was second on the team with 11 tries and 55 points.
Alford earns her first award after finishing the season with four tries. Muldoon also earns her first selection.
The Bears finished the season with a record of 5-3-1. They lost 47-33 in the NIRA semi-finals against Dartmouth.
