
Women's Rugby Begins the Spring Season 5-1

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown women's rugby led the Round Robin tournament on Saturday at Rickerson Field at Haaga House, going 5-1 on the day, to begin the 2026 portion of the rugby schedule. Princeton hosted the tournament that included Brown, Mount St. Mary's, and West Chester.
Brown B def. MSMU B 38-0:
The Bears opened the tournament with a dominating 38-0 win over Mount St. Mary's. Charlotte Davies, Naomi Van Zandt, and Lauren Huang controlled the scoring, with Davies scoring one try and one conversion, Van Zandt kicking four successful conversions, and Huang scoring three tries. Adrienne Walby also scored the first try of her collegiate career.

Brown earned its second win of the day, defeating the Princeton Tigers 31-7. With Princeton scoring the first try of the match, Brown responded and dominated the rest of the game. Tatum Muller scored the first try for the Bears, while Olivia Baptiste followed up with two tries. Lily Nowak and Genie Dickens both scored a try in the game. Julia Murray made two conversions, while Lily McGettigan kicked the last conversion of the match.

The Bears fell in the third match of the day, 17-10, to Mount St. Mary's A Team. However, the Bears persevered throughout the match, scoring a try after MSMU scored one. Priscilla Maalouf and Asha Davis scored both tying tries, but MSMU's third try at the ninth minute sealed their win.

Brown secured the fourth match of the day, 61-0, earning the second win for the Brown A Team. Laryssa Barbosa scored four tries, two of which were scored in the opening minutes of both halves. Nowak made her third try of the day, Muller scored her second, and Yona Allouche made her first. Murray made five conversions, and McGettigan made three.

The Bears defeated Princeton again, this time with a 40-5 final. Jenna Lowry scored her first try of the spring season, opening the match. Van Zandt scored two tries and successfully made four conversions. Catilin Moroney scored two tries. Huang scored the Bears' final try while Mia Vargas completed the conversion.

The Bears capped off the day with a 36-0 win over Mount St. Mary's A Team. McGettigan began the Bears' scoring by making two tries and a conversion. Genie Dickens scored her second try of the day to end the first half. Kate Muldoon opened the second half, scoring a try at the eighth minute, and Barbosa followed at the 12th minute, scoring hers. Davies scored the final try for the Bears, and Murray completed the conversions.
