Men’s Swimming and Diving Remain in Lead After Day Two of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Brown men's swimming and diving team collected two victories on Saturday as Marton Nagy won the 400 IM and was part of the 800 free relay team that finished atop the leaderboards at Kinney Natatorium. Nagy was joined on the relay squad by Christopher Zhang, Erik Nadecki, and Finn Quested. Overall, Brown is leading the Bucknell Invitational with 1,138.5 points.
SATURDAY EVENING SESSION
Brown's two medley teams placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 medley relay to begin the evening session.
A dominating Brown performance in the 400 IM finals featured the top five finishes and overall, six in the top eight. Marton Nagy stole the show with a 3:46.48, breaking the Kinney Natatorium pool record, previously set in 2017 (3:47.12).
Zhang swam a 48.48 in the 100 fly finals for a fifth-place finish. Christian Duetoft (third) and Rory O'Connor (fifth) placed in the top five in the 200 free finals.
Jake Regenwetter shaved off .22 from his prelim time in the 100 breast finals for a second-place finish. Max Moore placed fourth in the same event to give Brown two top-five placements.
Nagy, Zhang, Nadecki, and Quested won the 800 free relay, concluding Saturday with a time of 6:30.41.
SATURDAY MORNING SESSION
Nagy won the 400 IM prelims with a time of 3:49.14. Five additional swimmers reached the finals as Matthew Purcell (second), Nadecki (third), James Kershaw (fourth), Max Hardart (sixth), and Max Moore (eighth) posted top eight finishes.
Zhang (fourth) and Regenwetter (seventh) advanced to the 100 fly finals.
O'Connor and Duetoft finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 free prelims to advance to the finals.
Moore and Regenwetter finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 100 breast prelims.
