Field Hockey Welcomes Cornell and Maine This Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown field hockey team (4-3, 1-1) will welcome Cornell on Friday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. before hosting Maine (3-6, 0-0) on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m.
Sunday's game against Maine will be Brown's Pink Out Game.
Three in a Row
With two wins last weekend, Brown has now won three-straight games and four out of its last five. The Bears are out scoring their opponents 16-1 during their three-game winning streak.
Pellegrino Earns Ivy League Weekly Honors
Lexi Pellegrino was named Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Last weekend, Pellegrino helped the Bears earn two victories. First, she led the Bears with six points in a 4-1 win at Columbia (Sept. 26). Pellegrino found the back of the net twice while dishing out two assists.
In Brown's 4-0 win over UMass Lowell (Sept. 28), Pellegrino recorded a team-high six shots and a team-high five shots on goal. Over the last four games, the Westwood, Mass. native has 16 points. She ranks first in the Ivy League with seven goals and 17 points.
Pellegrino also ranks fourth in program history with 32 goals and is six goals away from breaking the program record. She also ranks sixth in program history with 71 career points, she is four points away from moving into fourth in program history.
Scouting Brown (4-3, 1-1)
As a team, Brown's 3.14 goals per game ranks 17th in the nation while its 8.86 points per game ranks 18th nationally. The Bears have the second-most goals per game in the Ivy League.
Pellegrino's 2.43 points per game ranks 15th in the nation and second in the Ivy League, her 1.0 goals per game ranks 14th nationally and second in the Ivy League. Ellie Parker's .743 save percentage ranks 18th nationally and second in the Ivy League.
Scouting Cornell (6-0, 2-0)
The Big Red are off to a 6-0 start for the first time since 2009. This season, Cornell is outscoring its opponents 19-5, holding a 144-38 edge in shots, and earning 74 penalty corners to just 33 to its opponents.Â
Goalkeeper Jane McNally is 6-0 this season with a 0.92 goals against average and a .706 save percentage.
The Big Red rank first nationally with 12.33 penalty corners per game and sixth nationally with 3.50 assists per game.
Scouting Maine (3-6, 0-0)
Maine will open America East play at Albany on Friday, Oct. 3 before traveling to Providence to take on Brown. Heading into the weekend, the Black Bears have lost three-straight games. Brown will be the second Ivy League team Maine will face this season as the Black Bears fell 2-1 to Dartmouth earlier this season.
Goalkeeper Rozarie Mrazova leads the America East with a .738 save percentage.
History
Brown is 17-26-2 all-time against Cornell. Last season, the Big Red earned a 3-2 win over the Bears in Ithaca, N.Y. Brown is 2-5 all-time against Maine, the Black Bears have won four-straight games over the Bears.

Brown will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Penn on Friday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. before heading to Boston University on Monday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
