
Volleyball Drops Four-Setter at New Hampshire to Close out Weekend

DURHAM, N.H. – Brown volleyball finished up its weekend in New Hampshire with a four-set loss to the host Wildcats.
Beau Vanderlaan led Brown with 13 kills and Mariia Sidorova finished the afternoon with 11 kills. Ella Park guided the offense with 38 assists and 10 digs for a double-double.
Jessie Golden finished with 21 digs on defense for her first 20-dig match of the season. Sophia Wolfson led Brown's net defense with six blocks.
New Hampshire took an early lead in set one with a 6-0 run that put the Wildcats up 10-3. Another 5-0 run late in the set made the score 20-8. Brown picked up a couple of kills by Ally Panzloff but UNH closed out the set 25-13.
Kills by Isabella Bonatakis and Wolfson pulled Brown within one at 7-6 early in the second but the Bears allowed six-straight points to fall behind 13-6. Brown pulled within four at 15-11 but an 8-0 run sealed the set for New Hampshire, which won the second 25-16.
Brown picked up an early lead in the third and the set was back and forth with UNH taking a 16-14 lead before Brown came back with a block by Wolfson and Sidorova and kill by Vanderlaan to take a 19-18 lead. New Hampshire was up 23-22 before Brown scored the last three points of the set to force a fourth.
Bonatakis made the score 9-8 New Hampshire in the fourth before a 3-0 run pushed the lead to four for the Wildcats. Back-to-back kills by Panzloff made the score 15-11 but UNH scored the next five points taking advantage of four errors by Brown to jump ahead 20-11. Brown pulled within six a couple of times later in the set but never got closer as UNH closed out the match, winning set four, 25-18

Brown will begin Ivy League play as the Bears will host Yale on Saturday, September 28 with first serve being at 5 p.m.
