Track & Field Finishes Among Leaders in Several National Event Rankings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The recently completed 2023-24 indoor track and field season proved to be a strong one for the Brown Bears. The teams found themselves ranked in the top 30 in all of Division I in several #EventSquad rankings, including in the top 10 in three events, two on the women's side and one on the men's.
MEN
Long Jump – 10th – 7.40m
WOMEN
Triple Jump – 4th – 12.55m
High Jump – 6th – 1.76m
Long Jump – 17th – 5.92m
Pentathlon – 13th – 3,563 pts.
Weight Throw – 30th – 17.52m
60m Hurdles – 26th – 8.58 seconds
On the men's side, the Brown had an average long jump of 7.40 meters, which ranked 10th in the nation, the highest in the Ivy League and fourth nationally among non-power conference schools.
The women boasted two rankings in the top six in the nation. The triple jump squad ranked fourth nationally and first in the Ivy with an average of 12.55 meters. The high jumpers ranked sixth nationally, No. 1 among non-power conferences at 7.03m.
Within the Ivy League, Brown was the only program to have four athletes in the top 10 of the high jump, with all of them ranking in the top seven, led by pentathlon champion and high jump school record holder Chiamaka Odenigbo (1.82m) and Ivy high jump champion Rudecia Bernard (1.80m).
In the triple jump, Jada Joseph (12.98m), Lauren Yeboah-Kodie (12.91m) and Odenigbo (12.34m) all ranked in the top seven in the league.
