Several Records Fall as Women’s Swimming and Diving Concludes Ivy Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The record book is now filled with the 2024 era of Brown Women's Swimming and Diving as the Bears placed fourth in the Ivy Swim and Dive Championships, held in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The Bears collected 1036 points; all in all, 12 records were broken during the Brown-hosted postseason event.
Morgan Lukinac, Lily Klinginsmith, Kelly Dolce and Zehra Bilgin set numerous records tonight as Lukinac placed second in the 100 free and teamed with Klinginsmith, Dolce and Bilgin to finish second in the 400 free. Bilgin was third in the 200 fly.
PROGRAM RECORDS
FINALS
Lukinac shaved time off her preliminary mark in the 100 free, and placed second, clocking in at 48.53 to set a program record. Klinginsmith finished fifth in the A finals in the same event.
Amie Barrow and Catherine Yu finished seventh and eighth in the A finals of the 200 breaststroke.
Klinginsmith, Lukinac, Dolce, and Bilgin finished second in the 400 free relays A finals with a time of 3:18.22. The previous Brown mark was set in 2017 by Maddie Salesky, Sarah Cronin, Marley Cross and Taylor Seaman.
Bilgin placed third in the 200 fly finals at 1:56.55, breaking her record in the same event set earlier during prelims.
PRELIMS
Earlier in the day, Lukinac set a new program record in the 100 free (she broke her own later that day), placing second in the prelims at 48.83, an NCAA 'B' provisional standard. The previous Brown record was 48.82 held by Jennifer Boyd (1990) and Seaman (2019). Klinginsmith and Dolce also advanced to the A finals in the 100 free.
Yu and Barrow finished fifth and sixth, respectively, to advance to the A finals in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Bilgin's 1:57.07 performance in the 200 butterfly shattered Andrea Wei's 1:58.41 in 2019 to set a new standard at Brown. Her finish was good for second as she advanced to finals.
