Women's Rugby Picks Up Three All-NIRA Selections

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three Bears picked up NIRA All-Conference honors, announced by the league Wednesday afternoon.
Morgan Cunningham and Nikki Lynch earned Second Team All-NIRA honors with Akilah Cathey picking up Honorable Mention All-NIRA accolades.
Cunningham saw action in all eight matches this fall as a senior and finished the campaign with two tries. She scored in the season-opening rout over Princeton and added another try in the win over Navy on October 7.
Lynch also played in all eight matches this fall and ranked third on the team with five tries. Lynch chipped in three tries in the win over Queens before scoring twice against Harvard the following week.
Cathey started all eight matches this fall and led the Bears with 11 tries. She recorded multiple tries in four matches, including four in the season-opening win over Princeton and two against Navy, Penn State, and Dartmouth.
For Cathey, it marks the third straight season she has picked up All-NIRA honors. She was a First XV selection as a sophomore in 2022 and an Honorable Mention selection in 2021.
