Men’s Basketball Hosts Stony Brook on Wednesday

PROVIDENCE, R.i. - The Brown men's basketball team (3-3) will host Stony Brook (2-4) on Wednesday afternoon, tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.

Last Time Out
Brown picked up its first road victory and second consecutive win with an 83-76 win at Canisius (Nov. 23), Kino Lilly Jr. led the way with 21 points. Landon Lewis also scored a career-high 17 points on 8-11 shooting from the field.
History Made, The Chase Continues
Kino Lilly Jr. is now the all-time leader in program history with 265 three-pointers made. Lilly Jr. also sits fifth all-time in career points with 1,533, he is 133 points away from being the second-leading scorer in program history.
Lilly Jr. looks to become the fourth Bear to earn First Team All-Ivy honors in three consecutive seasons, the last player to do so was Jason Forte (2003-05).
Kino's World
Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Lilly Jr. was named to the Bracketeer.Org All-American Watch List. Last week, the senior was named to the Lou Henson Award Early-Season Watch List. Lilly Jr. is averaging 21.2 points on 44.3 shooting from the field and 47.5 shooting from three-point range.
Lilly Jr. is averaging 4.8 three-pointers made per game and is on pace to break Brown's single season record of 93 set by Sean McGonagill during the 2013-14 season, Lilly Jr. had 90 triples during the 2023-24 campaign.
His 4.8 triples per game ranks first in the nation and his 29 total triples ranks third in the nation, he's 33rd in the nation with 127 total points and his 47.5 three-point percentage ranks 54th in the nation.
Lilly Jr. ranks ninth on the Ivy League three-point field goals made last, he is four triples away from being eighth in Ivy League history. He has also scored in double-digits in 11 straight games dating back to last season, the senior has 55 double-digit scoring efforts as a Bear.
Cooley Continues To Impress
Through the first six games of the season, Aaron Cooley is averaging 11.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, the senior has recorded double-digit scoring efforts in five out of six games and has three double-doubles.
Cooley matched a career-best effort in Brown's season opener against Siena (Nov. 4) as he poured in 15 points and 15 rebounds, 15 points matched a career-high and 15 rebounds was a career-high. Cooley's 15 rebounds against Siena was the most by an Ivy League player this season.
Cooley is shooting 48.1 percent from the floor this season and his 54 total rebounds ranks 37th in the nation, his 9.0 rebounds per contest sits 41st nationally. Cooley's 6.83 defensive rebounds per game ranks first in the Ivy League.
Lewis' Leap
In the absence of Nana Owusu-Anane, Landon Lewis has scored in double-digits in all six games this season. Lewis recorded his first career double-double in Brown's 89-70 win over Sacred Heart (Nov. 17) with 14 points and 11 rebounds; he backed up that effort with a career-high 17 points (8-11) shooting at Canisius.
Lewis also recorded five blocks against Holy Cross (Nov. 16), his 13 total blocks ranks 20th in the nation while his 2.17 blocks per game ranks 30th in the nation, both rank first in the Ivy League.
Lewis' 3.33 offensive boards per game ranks first in the ivy League along with his 66.0 field goal percentage. Lewis' field goal percentage ranks first in the Ivy League and 29th nationally, the Los Angeles, Calif. Native is averaging 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
Welcome Back, AJ
After missing the first two games of the season with an eye injury, AJ Lesburt Jr. had a career-best effort in Brown's win over Sacred Heart with 22 points on 6-10 shooting from three-point range. Lesburt Jr. scored 11 points on 3-5 shooting (2-4 from three-point range) in Brown's win at Canisius.
Del's Career Day
Lyndel Erold had a career-high 16 points at Canisius, the senior shot 5-9 from the floor (3-6 from three-point range). Erold's five field goals and three three-pointers made were also career-best efforts.
Lineup Changes
Head Men's Basketball Coaching Chair has used three starting lineups through the first six games this season. After inserting Malcolm Wrisby-Jefferson into the starting lineup, the Bears are 2-0 and are 3-1 since AJ Lesburt Jr. returned to the starting lineup.
Block Party
Brown ranks 19th in the nation with 6.0 blocks per game, the Bears have accumulated at least five blocks in five out of six games this season.
The Bears have had two players record at least five blocks in a game this season: N'famara Dabo (Nov. 15) and Landon Lewis (Nov. 16). Brown's 6.0 blocks per game ranks first in the Ivy League.
Brown has had three games with the most blocks in a single game by an Ivy League team this season. Brown's nine blocks against Siena is the most blocks by an Ivy League team this season, followed by its eight blocks against New Hampshire, and seven blocks against Holy Cross. Since the 2015-16 campaign, Brown has hit 15 triples on five separate occasions. Brown nailed 11 triples in its win at Canisius and have shot 47.2 percent (26-55) from distance over the last two games.
Scouting Stony Brook
The Seawolves enter the Pizzitola Sports Center with a 2-4 overall record and a 1-3 mark on the road. Stony Brook will look to snap a two-game losing streak, both losses having come to Ivy League opponents in Yale (Nov. 20) and Columbia (Nov. 23).

Brown will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 3 when they travel to Burlington, Vt. to take on Vermont, tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Patrick Gymnasium.
