Amaral, Barry, and Sprofera Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Three members of the Brown men's soccer team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Receiving the honor were seniors Tanner Barry and Harri Sprofera, and sophomore Lorenzo Amaral.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have participated in 90% of the team's games played or must start in at least 66% of the contests, have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and reached sophomore athletic eligibility.Â
A two-time selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team, Tanner Barry closed out the 2024 season with 13 shots, one goal, and one assist. Barry made appearances in all 17 games, starting in 16 of them. Barry had a notable performance in Brown's 3-1 win over Harvard on Oct. 19, scoring the game-winning goal.
Harri Sprofera is also a two-time selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team. He wrapped up the season with three goals, for a total of six points. Sprofera participated in thirteen games this season, starting in all of them. He played a large role in Brown's defense this season, but also put in the work offensively. Sprofera scored the game-winning goal against Yale on Nov. 9, punching the Bears' ticket to the Ivy League Tournament.
Lorenzo Amaral earned his first nomination the the CSC Academic All-District Team. Amaral racked up 22 points this season, with eight goals and six assists. He led the Bears in points for the 2024 season, with Mads Stistrup Petersen following closely behind. Amaral finished second in the Ivy League in points behind Cornell's Alex Harris. Amaral appeared in 14 contests this season, making the start in 12 of them.Â
