
Griebl Named Ivy League Player of the Week; Kakkis Named Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown volleyball's Kayla Griebl and Julia Kakkis took home Ivy League weekly awards as the Bears beat Dartmouth and Havard last weekend. Griebl was named Co-Player of the Week and Kakkis was named Rookie of the Week for their performances in the win.
Griebl led Brown with 5.00 kills per set hitting .310 as Brown went 2-0 with wins at Dartmouth and Harvard over the weekend. Griebl also averaged 2.71 digs per set for the Bears. Against Dartmouth Griebl had a career-high 21 kills and finished with eight digs and two blocks. In a sweep at Harvard, Griebl had 14 kills and 11 digs for her first double-double of the season.
Kakkis guided Brown's offense in wins over Dartmouth and Harvard, averaging 9.86 assists per set. Kakkis also had 2.86 digs per set and finished the weekend with five blocks. In the Dartmouth match, Kakkis posted a career-high 37 assists and career-high 15 digs. The freshman then posted 32 assists and five digs in the win over the Crimson.
