Three Men’s Tennis Doubles Pairings Advance at ITA New England Regionals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Three doubles pairings from the Brown men's tennis team advanced to the round of 16 on day three of the ITA New England Regionals on Saturday.

Sam Feldman and James Lian defeated Petar Teodorovic and Jack MCarthy from Cornell, (8-7, 7-4 tiebreaker).

Zander Bravo and Alex Finkelstein defeated Walker Oberg and Luke Neal of Yale, (8-7, 7-4 tiebreaker). Noah Hernandez and Lukas Phimvongsa rounded out the doubles winners for Brown as they defeated Benardo Teixeira and Peter Hatton from Le Moyne, (8-5).

Alex Koong and Toby Luo fell in the round of 32 in doubles to Melchior Delloye and Mitchell Lee, (2-8).

In the round of 32 in the singles main Draw, Alex Finkelstein took on Peter Benjamin Privara of Harvard, Privara earned a two-set victory, (6-7, 7-9 tiebreaker, 3-6).

The Bears went a perfect 3-0 in the singles main draw consolation bracket as James Lian defeated Josh Israel from Colgate, (6-2, 6-4) and Noah Hernandez defeated Dylan Tsoi from Yale, (7-6, 1-6, 10-4). Rounding out the consolation victories for the Bears was Zander Bravo, who earned a victory over Rushil Khosla from Colgate, (6-3), Khosla was defeated by retirement due to injury.

The doubles pairings advancing to the round of 16 will continue competition tomorrow, Oct. 20.
