HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers jumped on the board on their opening possession, going for it on 4th-and-inches from their own 34 and turning it into a 66-yard touchdown run up the middle by John Volker. The PAT was no good after a penalty.
- After a Brown punt, Princeton capped an 11-play, 90-yard drive with a seven-yard touchdown run by Volker to take a 12-0 lead after a failed two-point attempt at the 5:16 mark.
- After both teams exchanged interceptions early in the second quarter, Princeton took a 19-0 lead at the 12:27 mark on a 13-yard QB scramble on third down.
- The Bears responded with a big 10 play, 75-yard drive to get on the scoreboard with Solomon Miller taking a pitch to the left and running it in untouched from one yard out to make it 19-7 at the 8:39 mark. The drive was highlighted by a 31-yard pass to Levi Linowes, which set Brown up at the two-yard line.
- Princeton used a 60-yard pass to get into field goal range and tack on three more with a 28-yarder with 7:00 minutes to go until halftime.
- Princeton came away with an interception in the red zone in the closing seconds, Brown's third turnover of the opening half, to keep it 22-7 going into the locker room.
- Brown jumped right back in the game with a strong 18-play, 75-yard drive to open the second half, capped by a one-yard scoring run from Qwentin Brown. The Bears converted six first downs on the drive and were 4-for-5 on third down and 1-for-1 on fourth down.
- Backed up against the goal line and facing 2nd-and-goal at the two, Reed came away with a huge interception in the end zone to end a long Princeton drive and get Brown the ball back with just over 13 minutes remaining.
- Maron brought the Bears within 22-17 with 8:17 to play with a 33-yard field goal. Brown converted a huge fourth down on the drive with a 31-yard pass to Moseley on 4th-and-5 from their own 49.
- Qwentin Brown came up with a huge punt block on special teams to get Brown the ball back near midfield with 7:17 to go, but the Tigers forced Brown's fourth turnover of the game a few plays later with a fumble.
